  • ArtStream received the EP Maxwell Schleifer Distinguished Service Award from EP Global Communications, Inc., publisher of Exceptional Parent magazine. ArtStream was honored for advocacy on behalf of people living with disabilities. Free Baseball for Disability Awareness Night June 7th!

All members and guests of ArtStream are invited to join The Washington Group Special Care Planning Team at its 5th annual Disability Awareness Night.

Date: Saturday June 7, 2008

Time: Will Call at 4 p.m. - New Time!
         Disability Resource Fair 4 to 5:30 p.m.
         First Pitch at 5:35 p.m.

Where: Pfitzner Stadium, Woodbrige VA

ArtStream Turns 1

ArtStream was incorporated on September 29, 2005 and received notice of its official 501(c)(3) status on September 29 of 2006. In honor of this special day, ArtStream celebrated its first year as a non-profit on September 30, 2007.

The birthday party featured cake and karoake. Thank you to our many friends and donors who attended and made the party a success.  view photos

Recognition for ArtStream

ArtStream was recognized for providing artistic experiences for people with disabilities in Arlington County at the Arlington County Proclamation Ceremony on March 6, 2007. The program was held at Rock Bottom Restaurant at Ballston Mall.

Artstream at Magical Montgomery in Silver Spring

ArtStream hosted a booth at Magical Montgomery, an arts festival in downtown Silver Spring sponsored by the Montgomery County Arts and Humanities. Eric Burgan performed a scene from "The Arkansaw Bear" and Sally Kinka, Dan Villar and Emilia O'Connor performed a song from the play "Knights of Glory".

Artstream presents at the Nat'l Association of Drama Therapy

ArtStream presented at the National Association of Drama Therapy Conference: "Places! Taking Our Place: Drama Therapy and Professional Standing". The conference was held August 10-13, 2007, at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. The title of the presentation was "ArtStream: Birth of a 501(c)(3)" focusing on how the business was created to provide artistic opportunities to individuals in underserved communities. The presenters were Sally Kinka, Laura Purdy, and Patricia Woolsey.
